Trades

Deadline Day is one of the most exciting days of the hockey season and Saucerpass will be with you every step of the way bringing you all the trades that happen leading up to Deadline Day, as well as live coverage on Wednesday, March 4th. We will keep you up to speed on who’s going where, who to add and who to drop in your fantasy leagues to help you make the most of the end of the season. Buckle in. It’s going to be a wild ride!

Montreal Trades: Draft Picks
Atlanta Trades: Mathieu Schneider
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Advice: While his age is tough to overlook, he’ll be anchoring Montreal’s power play until the end of the fantasy season. Certainly worth a play if you have an injury or need to fill a roster spot.

New York Islanders Trade: Mike Comrie & Chris Campoli
Ottawa Trades: Dean McAmmond & 2009 First Round Pick
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Advice: While McAmmond has no fantasy value, Comrie could be a nice 3rd/4th option down the stretch at center and should be available in most leagues. Campoli could see increased power play responsibility if Kuba gets dealt.

Pittsburgh Trades: Ryan Whitney
Anaheim Trades: Chris Kunitz & Eric Tangradi
Fantasy Impact: High

Montreal Trades: Steve Begin
Dallas Trades: Doug Janik
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: Neither players are worth owning in any formats.

Atlanta Trades: Niclas Havelid & Myles Stoesz
New Jersey Trades: Anssi Salmela
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: Niclas Havelid, who only has 15 points on the season, is certainly going to a better team, however, isn’t worth adding other than in the very deepest of fantasy leagues. Stoesz is an enforcer and Salmela may be worth a look next season in Atlanta as he has a nice offensive upside.

Ottawa Trades: Antoine Vermette
Columbus Trades: Pascal Leclaire & 2nd round draft pick
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Link: http://saucerpass.com/2009/03/trade-alert-antoine-vermette-to-columbus-for-pascal-leclaire/

Calgary Trades: Lawrence Nycholat, Ryan Wilson & 2nd round draft pick
Colorado Trades: Jordan Leopold
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: Leopold will certainly get the time in Calgary, however, don’t expect a significant offensive output. An interesting add in only the deepest of leagues, Leopold could be considered for a fantasy team that’s struggling with injuries at defense. Again, only in the deepest of leagues. Lawrence Nycholat and Ryan Wilson are not worth owning in any fantasy leagues this season.

Pittsburgh Trades: Danny Richmond
St. Louis Trades: Andy Wozniewski
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: No fantasy impact here.

Buffalo Trades: 4th round draft pick
Phoenix Trades: Mikael Tellqvist
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Advice: Tellqvist should certainly get his fair share of starts giving Buffalo a solid option in net until Miller returns to 100%. Pick him up as a flyer for now to help with goalie starts until Miller returns.

Anaheim Trades: Steve Montador
Boston Trades: Petteri Nokelainen
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: No fantasy value here.

Phoenix Trades: Olli Jokinen & 3rd Rd. Draft Pick
Calgary Trades: Matthew Lombardi, Brandon Prust & 1st round draft pick
Fantasy Impact: High
Saucerpass Link: http://saucerpass.com/2009/03/trade-alert-olli-jokinen-to-calgary-for-lombardi-prust-a-pick/

Boston Trades: Matt Lashoff & Martins Karsums
Tampa Bay Trades: Mark Recchi & 2nd round draft pick.
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Advice: A great pickup for the Bruins as Recchi showed us the other night that he still has something left in the tank by collecting 3 assists. Look for Recchi to play the 2nd line in Beantown with some power play time included in there. He is certainly worth a look in moderate to deep leagues as he is only 9% owned in Yahoo! right now. If you have the room to add him, it could be an extremely savvy pickup for the push here.

New York Islanders Trade: Bill Guerin
Pittsburgh Trades: Conditional Pick
Fantasy Impact: High
Saucerpass Link: http://saucerpass.com/2009/03/trade-alert-bill-guerin-headed-to-pittsburgh/

Philadelphia Trades: Daniel Carcillo
Phoenix Trades: Scottie Upshall & 2nd round pick
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: For every day fantasy leagues, neither player is worth going out of the way to acquire down the stretch unless your fantasy league over-emphasizes penalty minutes.

New York Rangers Trade: 2nd round pick & conditional pick
Toronto Trades: Nik Antropov
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Advice: Antropov has 46 points on the season heading to a Ranger team where he wouldn’t drop below the 2nd line in terms of the depth charts. If Antropov is avilable, take a chance on him as he should be on the right side in New York.

New York Rangers Trade: Nigel Dawes, Petr Prucha, Dimitri Kalinen
Phoenix Trades: Derek Morris
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Link: http://saucerpass.com/2009/03/trade-alert-nigel-dawes-petr-prucha-dmitri-kalinen-for-derek-morris/

Buffalo Trades: 2nd round draft pick
Toronto Trades: Dominic Moore
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Advice: Moore will certainly get his chance in Buffalo and if for whatever reason your fantasy team is struggling at center, he could be worth adding.

Atlanta Trades: Erik Christensen
Anaheim Trades: Eric O’Dell
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: No fantasy value here.

Florida Trades: Noah Welch & 3rd round pick
Tampa Bay Trades: Steve Eminger
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: No fantasy value here.

Calgary Trades: Kevin Lalande
Columbus Trades: 4th round draft pick
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: No fantasy value here.

Philadelphia Trades: 6th Round Draft Pick
San Jose Trades: Kyle Mclaren
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: No fantasy value here.

Anaheim Trades: Samuel Pahlsson
Chicago Trades: James Wisniewski
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: Wisniewski is behind 3 solid offensive defensemen and unless your fantasy hockey league emphasizes face-off wins, leave Pahlsson alone.

Anaheim Trades: Travis Moen & Kent Huskins
Chicago Trades: Nick Bonino, Timo Pielmeier & Conditional Draft Pick
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: Quite a few players involved but none worthy of a fantasy add.

Carolina Trades: Justin Williams
Los Angeles Trades: Patrick O’Sullivan
Edmonton Trades: Erik Cole
Fantasy Impact: High
Saucerpass Link: http://saucerpass.com/2009/03/trade-alert-osullivan-williams-and-cole/

Edmonton Trades: 2nd round draft pick
Buffalo Trades: Ales Kotalik
Fantasy Impact: Moderate
Saucerpass Advice: Kotalik could fit in to the 2nd line in Edmonton and could be a decent pick up in deep fantasy hockey leagues. He’s a right winger which are difficult to come by this late in the season in deeper leagues.

Tampa Bay Trades: Richard Petiot
Toronto Trades: Olaf Kolzig, Jamie Heward & Andy Rogers
Fantasy Impact: Low
Saucerpass Advice: Quite a few players involved but none worthy of a fantasy add. Just a salary dump.
