Steve Reinprecht Traded to the Florida Panthers

CBC is reporting that Steve Reinprecht, center for the Phoenix Coyotes in 2008-2009, has been traded to the Florida Panthers for prospect Stefan Meyer.

Fantasy Analysis for Florida
While Reinprecht won’t have much value in shallow fantasy hockey leagues, deeper leagues should take note. Center is the deepest position in fantasy hockey, but with budding talent around him, Reinprecht offers veteran experience which should fit right in with a growing team. When all is said and done, he could have 40+ points next season and may go overlooked in fantasy drafts. Managers who prefer to hold off on centers because of their depth could take advantage of Panthers’ new situation. If Florida moves Horton back to right wing permanently, there is a good chance Reinprecht could be their 2nd line center. Stay tuned.

Fantasy Analysis for Phoenix
Meyer put up rock solid numbers in his 5-year WHL stint, however, he has not excelled to nearly that level in the AHL. Before committing to anyone on the Phoenix Coyotes next fantasy season, see how the summer plays out. It could prove to be a real fantasy nightmare.
