Pronger Traded to the Flyers for Lupul and Sbisa
Chris Pronger has been traded by the Anaheim Ducks to the Philadelphia Flyers for Lupul, Sbisa, two 1st rounders and also a conditional 3rd rounder at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Source: NHL.com
Flyers Fantasy Impact: Pronger jumps into a young, up and coming defensive group with the Flyers. Alongside fellow veteran d-man Timonen, look for Pronger to help guide the young guys like Parent and Jones. Pronger’s presence means the Flyers will be that much tougher to play and score goals against, which could be pretty interesting in the tough division that they’re playing in, where every team seems to be improving continuously the past couple seasons.
Ducks Fantasy Impact: Anaheim grabs back a pretty good scorer in Lupul and also takes on a developing player in Sbisa, who came out of nowhere last year to stick on the Philly roster. The Ducks also get a couple first rounders and also a conditional 3rd, but for fantasy managers, Lupul and Sbisa are the ones that make the most impact in day to day operations. Hopefully Lupul can get back to the form that he once had in Anaheim and as for Sbisa, he’s a good young player but his fantasy impact is minimal at the moment.
