Who’s Hot, Who’s Not (3-20-09)

Here’s a look at this past week’s hot and cold performers:

Who’s Hot:

Tobias Enstrom (Atlanta) – Enstrom has picked up his game recently netting 5 points with 4 coming on the power play in the past week. He’s also added a +2 rating.

T.J. Oshie (St. Louis) – The rookie has 5 points in 3 games with 3 of them coming on the man advantage.

Sean Avery (New York Rangers) – He’s back! He has 4 goals in 4 games with 2 of them on the power play. He’s also had 13 shots on goal in that span.

Ryan Kesler (Vancouver) – He has 7 points in 4 games with 3 on the powerplay and a +3 rating.

Antoine Vermette (Columbus) – New scenery has treated Vermette nicely with 5 points in the past week and a +3 rating.

Other notables: David Backes (St. Louis), J.P. Dumont (Nashville), John-Michael Liles (Colorado)

Who’s Not:

Joe Corvo (Carolina) – No points and a -3 rating in the past week. He’s only got 3 points on the month and only 1 on the powerplay.

Jason Arnott (Nashville) – He’s missed 3 straight games with a possible concussion. The Preds are officially calling it an upper body injury and with no timetable for return, it might be better to use other options at such a plentiful position.

Jonathan Cheechoo (San Jose) – He’s only got 3 points in the past month and 2 of them came in the same game. This guy he’s been the poster child of a fantasy bust.

Patrick O’Sullivan (Edmonton) – Only 2 points since being traded and only 1 point and a -1 rating in his last 3 games.

Ryan Whitney (Anaheim) – He went from being a #1 defender, to a #2, and then to a #3 in Anaheim. He only has 3 points in the past month and hasn’t scored since the middle of February.

Other notables: Dennis Wideman (Boston), Brent Burns (Minnesota), Ron Hainsey (Atlanta)
