Here’s a look at this past week’s hot and cold performers:
Who’s Hot:
Sergei Samsonov (Carolina): The Hurricanes are on fire and he’s been right there along with them with 6 points (4 of which were on the power play) over the last 4 games.
Jason Williams (Columbus): We’ve been waiting for him to be a more consistent player and with 2 goals and 2 helpers with a +2 rating, he’s appears to be well on his way. Williams can also be counted on for other categories as well as he had 6 PIMs and 11 shots as well.
Michal Handzus (Los Angeles): Handzus has had a strong month and this past week he added 3 goals and 4 points with 2 of the tallies on the man advantage. He’s also a factor if your league counts faceoffs as he won 32 of his battles in the circle.
Chris Campoli (Ottawa): This guy has looked good ever since being traded off the Island. This past week he had 3 points and added a +5 rating. The best part: 2 of the 3 points were goals and both were game winners.
Bill Guerin (Pittsburgh): The veteran had a strong first week with his new club with 5 points, a +3 rating, and 9 shots.
Other notables: Sean Bergenheim, Teddy Purcell, Kim Johnsson
Who’s Not:
Miroslav Satan (Pittsburgh): He’s supposed to be headed down to the minors and doesn’t really look to be factored into the Pens playoff push so he really shouldn’t be in yours either.
Peter Mueller (Phoenix): The sophomore slump continues as Mueller had 1 point and was a -1 last week. He’s only been good for 3 points in the past month of play.
John-Michael Liles (Colorado): The Avs have been terrible as of late and Liles isn’t helping their cause with no points last week and a hideous -9 on the month.
Nathan Horton (Florida): He’s injured and will be out for at least a month which could mean looking at other options for managers currently in the playoffs.
Other notables: Dustin Penner, Ed Jovanovski, Petr Sykora
