Injury Updates: Briere, McDonald, Selanne & Bergeron
Here are a few updates for those of you holding on to these injured players or for those of you looking to make a waiver wire steal over the next week or so:
The Montreal Gazette is reporting that Daniel Briere will be in the lineup Wednesday night against the Atlanta Thrashers. Make sure you activate him immediately.
Look for Andy McDonald and Teemu Selanne to make their return shortly after the All-Star break. If either player is available in your league, make a play for them as an injured player will not have a negative affect on your roster as there are no games scheduled until January 27th. McDonald will return to the top line center position once healthy and will see significant power play time. Selanne is at an ultra thin right wing position and is a staple on the Ducks’ power play.
Patrice Bergeron is progressing nicely and could merit a stash if you have the capacity to do so. As Kory explained to us earlier this year, it’s advantageous to get players from good teams and Boston is as good as they come right now. Give him about a week to two weeks after the All-Star break until he is ready to take the ice once again.
Lastly, expect Sergei Gonchar and Alex Tanguay to maintain their mid-February return date.
