Injury Report: Brenden Morrow
TSN is reporting that Stars captain Brenden Morrow could be out for the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL.
Fantasy Impact:
Yikes. Certainly not good for Dallas and certainly not good for fantasy owners. The Stars have been somewhat of a disappointment so far this season and things continue spiral downward for them.
Let’s examine the situation and figure out the best possible way to handle this. Dallas is missing their number one left winger in Morrow and their number one right winger in Lehtinen. With that being said, we could see some serious line shuffling and end up with a result such as the following:
1st: Fabian Brunnstrom – Mike Ribeiro – Loui Eriksson
2nd: Sean Avery – Brad Richards – Mark Parrish
3rd: James Neal – Mike Modano – Landon Wilson
4th: Steve Ott – Toby Petersen – Krys Barch
For fantasy purposes, notice that Fabian Brunnstrom and Mark Parrish’s fantasy stock could go up in this situation, especially Brunnstrom’s since he has gone somewhat cold from his fast start. Certainly there are a fair share of people who probably bailed on him, which makes him all the more available to you. Sean Avery may also see some increased responsibility in Morrow’s absence, however, he will have to play with a level head if he wants to make an impact for his team in this time of need.
For those of you who have not bought in to Loui Eriksson yet, now may be the time. He’s a serious talent who is about to get a chance to really show the Stars what he’s made of.
If you’re in the market for a new left winger, and you’re in a deeper league, check out Brunnstrom. If you’re looking to benefit from all the line shuffling that could take place, have a look at Avery, Eriksson or Parrish.
With Brendan Morrow gone for the season or at least for a long period of time, Dallas is done for in my opinion. It all began with the signing of Avery which is the beginning of the end for the team. Time to blow it up and and start from scratch.
I think that the dallas stars are an awesome team that just needs a couple of help. They have lost a great player in fact he is one of my favorite players (Brendan Morrow). The only way they will be able to make it to the playoffs is if they start winning more and getting more points racked up and also Marty needs to get his head in the game.
