Okposo finished the season with the Isles last year and should have no issues making the starting squad this season. Like I mentioned in the article, he'll certainly have room to move up in the ranks because of the team's situation.

I didn't mention the Islander defense situation because in terms of fantasy, it's nonexistent. Mark Streit will be there, but it's very hard to determine his potential right now. He goes from a 62 point performance as a co-quarterback with Markov on the best power play in the NHL, to the 2nd worst power play in the league. A lot of factors to deal with in that equation. If you were looking for another defender, MAYBE Chris Campoli could be a source of points, but he's very susceptible to injury, and has not lived up to him hype just yet.

If I was in your shoes, I would only use Islander defenders as stopgap players unless one emerges as a serious fantasy standout.

As usual, very informative. Two questions about the Isles...is Okposo more or less a lock to be on one of the Islanders top lines to start the year? Second question...what is the Islander Defenseman situation?
